It’s time to try French wine in a new way, sans alcool. Just in time for summer, France’s beloved 0.0% wine brand, moderato, is crossing the channel to bring you chilled white and rosé, an effervescent sparkling cuvée and a juicy, lightly-oaked red – perfect for sunshine sipping.

moderato blends its unconventional personality with classic, time-honoured techniques and quality produce, delivering a range of characterful critically-acclaimed wines. Boasting stockists across France, including grocery giant Carrefour, these playful and expressive wines will spread the revolution to all four corners of the UK, with an oh-so-French, award-winning non-alcoholic range.

Available for £10 each, moderato’s all-natural range of still wines are low sugar, low calorie, and suitable for every occasion. moderato white is dry with aromas of honey balanced with fresh acidity; the rosé is crisp, with bright citrus and spring fruits, and the red is lightly oaked with notes of candied red berries. At £11, moderato Sparkling adds a je ne sais quoi to every celebration, with a rounded body and soft almond on the nose.

I was at the recent launch of moderato and I think these guys have cracked it. Most non alcoholic wines lack both body and taste, but all the moderato wines have good aromas in the bouquet, a bold mouthfeel, fruit flavours on the palate, and a lingering finish.

I would enjoy drinking any of the moderato wines while socialising with friends or with food.
