Maison Calvet has been at the forefront of Bordeaux wine production since it was founded almost 200 years ago. The Prestige cuvee from Calvet is a specially selected blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and is carefully matured in our cellars.

The wine is full and fruity with a long smooth aftertaste, making it a perfect choice with red meats, pizza and pasta as well as cheeses.

Grand Palais Médoc – £9.50

Peter Morrell, Editor, comments “I have tasted this wine and it’s a fine example of a Bordeaux. Grand Palais is a blend of three classic Bordeaux grapes. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, and the wine pours a deep ruby red colour. On the nose there are strong aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, and vanilla.

It has a good medium to full body and the mouthfeel is very smooth. On the palate more flavours emerge, cedar, liquorice, leather and almonds. The firm tannins make the wine dry, so it is perfect for drinking with food

The finish is very fruity and persistent. Match this wine with steak, BBQ meats, and strong cheeses.”

Cap Royal Bordeaux Rouge – £11.00

Cap Royal is a Bordeaux Supérieur that benefits from the expertise of Jean René Matignon, Technical Director of Château Pichon Baron, 2nd Grand Cru Classé. It has a beautiful aromatic complexity mingling aromas of red fruits with hints of vanilla coming from ageing in oak barrels.

La Raison Du Château des Fougères – £16.50

This sophisticated wine has complex aromas, tastes and flavours. There are strong oaky notes in the bouquet together with dark fruit and berries. On the palate earthy tones emerge with tobacco and leather. The finish is strong and long lasting
