Biggest and best tasting Sherry Week yet on 6th – 12th November 2023

This November, the largest annual festival of Sherry Wines in the world celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Across the UK, sherry lovers can unite for a week-long series of events such as tastings and pairing dinners in bars, restaurants and wine shops, which together make up this nationwide double-digit birthday gala.

More than 150 UK venues are expected to participate in Sherry Week 2023 – each organising several events between 6th and 12th November.

Providing the ideal opportunity to discover the full range of Sherries and what makes them a perfect match for big food flavours, this tenth anniversary is expected to be the biggest, most exciting and best tasting Sherry Week yet.

First launched in 2014 as a word-of-mouth series of events over the course of one week, Sherry Week has grown exponentially. Recent editions have seen half a million wine-lovers participating in more than 18,000 events in 40 countries and 4 continents – all with the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry and Manzanilla D.O.’s official stamp of approval.

Fans of Sherry can find out about everything planned for Sherry Week UK 2023 on the dedicated website. The platform will contain events listings from the original to the educational – these will form routes or ‘Sherry Rutas’ in London, Manchester and Edinburgh and across different British cities.

Creative bartenders, restaurateurs and winemakers themselves will demonstrate how there is a style of sherry to match every type of food. In wine bars, restaurants and other venues – from residential supperclubs to independent wine shops and national retailers – the Sherry Rutas offer wine tastings, food pairings and cultural events, plus plenty more besides, to foodies nationwide.

Look out for the 10th anniversary Sherry Week poster in participating venues and shops. Designed by Spanish artist Lorena G, this features a bounty of different Sherry-related elements: the different shades of Sherry wines, a barrel, a winery dog, architectural details of bodegas, cocktails, delicious dishes for pairing, and, of course, socialising Sherry drinkers.

Highlighting the diversity and flexibility of Sherry, more exciting events and activities are being announced from now right up to Sherry Week.
