Peter Morrell, Editor comments ‘It was a pleasure tasting San Pedro’s 35 South 2022 made with one of my favourite grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine pours an inky red, and the nose is filled with lovely aromas of blackberry and dark cherries. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied with well-rounded tannins that make it very smooth. On the palate the fruit remains and is joined by oaky vanilla flavours, earthy tones, and peppery spices. The finish is bright and fresh with lingering fruity notes.’
Offering great quality wines at an affordable price for everyday drinking, 35 South was available in the UK more than 10 years ago but has now been revived and updated for the modern drinker.
Chief Winemaker for 35 South, Viviana Magnere, has been making wine at Viña San Pedro for 18 years. She and the team are continually committed to economic, social and environmental quality winemaking and sustainable practices.

About 35 South
The sunny valleys of Chile provide ideal conditions for photosynthesis. Protected by the Andes Mountains, this region benefits from stable climates, as the Andes create significant temperature variations between day and night, which promotes the production of high-quality grapes. The influence of the Humboldt Current further moderates temperatures, leading to longer growing seasons. The vineyards are planted in areas with gentle hills and thin, well-drained alluvial soils, which provide nutrients and reduce rotting.
