Take a sip to the Promised Land

Everyday wines for enjoyable moments

Whether you’re catching the last of the evening sun on a weeknight or hosting a laid-back dinner with friends, Promised Land wines are here to elevate everyday moments. With vibrant character and balanced flavour, these wines bring style without fuss and quality without compromise.

Part of the Wakefield portfolio, Promised Land wines are named after an area in the Clare Valley in South Australia, a region that company founder Bill Taylor believed was perfect for crafting world-class wine, a true ‘promised land’ for viticulture.

Continuing to win over UK palates with two standout favourites from its well-loved Promised Land range: Wakefield Promised Land Pinot Grigio, and the Wakefield Promised Land Shiraz Cabernet. These wines are celebrated for their vibrant character, exceptional quality, and everyday drinkability.

If you’re toasting a spontaneous summer barbecue or relaxing on a Sunday afternoon with friends, Promised Land wines bring a touch of Australian attitude and lifestyle to your glass this summer.

Wakefield Promised Land Pinot Grigio 2022, 13% RRP £10

Bright, crisp, and effortlessly refreshing, this Pinot Grigio is a go-to for lighter moments. Expect zesty citrus, tropical fruit and a whisper of honeysuckle. With no oak influence, the wine stays light on its feet – perfect with grilled seafood, summer salads, or simply on its own with a bowl of olives in the sun.

Wakefield Promised Land Shiraz Cabernet 2020, 14.5% RRP £10

This smooth, medium-bodied red combines the richness of Shiraz with the structure of Cabernet. Ripe plum, cassis and a hint of liquorice shine through, balanced by soft oak tannins. It’s a comforting match for hearty pasta, roasted meats or a night in with a good film and better company.

Wakefield Promised Land wines are available from Tesco stores and online.

About Wakefield

Rooted in South Australia’s renowned Clare Valley and extending into some of the region’s most promising vineyards, the Promised Land collection reflects Wakefield’s dedication to making fine wine accessible. The range takes its name from a pivotal moment in Wakefield’s history, when founder Bill Taylor Sr. first set eyes on the land he believed perfect for crafting world-class wine.

While excavating the first vineyard dam, the Wakefield team unearthed fossilised seahorses, a remnant of an ancient inland sea. Today, these tiny seahorses adorn the wine labels as a symbol of both quality and sustainability.
