I’ve been trying a selection of this year’s Christmas range, and it really does invoke the spirit of Christmas. The first was the Christmas Spice Chutney, all those aromas you remember from when you were a child, when the smells of allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon filled the kitchen, and you had the excitement ofknowing that presents were on their way.
“The second was the cranberry, port and orange sauce, the perfect match for slices of succulent turkey and pigs in blankets. I used this as a base to make a sauce to pour over beaten chicken fillets which I fried, delicious. Finally, for that mellow time after the main Christmas lunch, the sticky fig relish is perfect to pair with mature stilton and cave aged cheddar.
