Coastal Chefs Unite for Savannah’s Seafood and Spirits Festival

The city of Savannah in the state of Georgia, located on the Savannah River, is as famous for its variety of mouthwatering coastal cuisine as its historic sights. Southern home cooking, fresh local seafood in abundance and nationally renowned Chefs, means the culinary scene is cookin’!


The 2017 Savannah Gourmet Seafood and Spirits Festival will be held 17-20 August 2017 and now in its fourth year, the four-day extravaganza is one of the finest culinary experiences in the USA. The festival, held at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa, hosts a series of exciting seafood tasting and spirit mixing events, each overlooking the Savannah River and the historic downtown district.

Highlights of the festival include the kickoff event, the Coastal Chefs Table, a premier seated dining experience hosted in the Grand Ballroom of the Westin and featuring five courses. Guests chefs from the coastal region will partner with the Westin chefs to create divine and eclectic menus. An experienced mixologist will design the perfect cocktails and wines to accompany the courses. The evening also includes cooking demonstrations by the Chef and live jazz music from Jeremy Davis and his talented band. Coastal Chef participants include Certified Angus Beef ® specialist Tony Biggs, and Eric Cousin, whose extensive resume includes time as Executive Chef at The Plaza. Tickets cost $125pp or $99pp for a table of 10.

AquaCurean Challenge & Coastal Pop-Up is a classic showcase of restaurants and mixologists, bringing together the best of Savannah. The all-inclusive ticket ($65pp/$125pp VIP), allows visitors to taste their way around Savannah as the restaurants compete, tantalizing them with their favourite seafood recipes. Bartenders will also compete for votes in the cocktail presentation and there will be live music, wine and craft brew tastings.

Hosted at the Aqua Star Seafood Kitchen, offering the best views of the river, The Fresh Catch Cocktails Jazz Brunch is the perfect location for the grand finale of the festival. Shrimp tails, champagne and the Bloody Mar Bar are just a few of the items on the menu to satisfy visitors’ taste buds. Tickets are $69pp and include all pours and food.
