Chill out in the sun with Sauvignon Blanc from Tesco

With the weather getting warmer, it’s the perfect time of the year to open a bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc. Tesco experts have put together a selection of great value wines to enjoy any day in the sun, but particularly on World Sauvignon Blanc Day on 6th May

Tesco Finest Sancerre – £14.00

Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes produced in the famous vineyards of Sancerre. This dry, crisp wine has intense flavours of citrus ans tropical fruit with a long creamy finish. A great match for goat’s cheese and salads

Vasse Felix Semillon Sauvignon Blanc – £12.00

Established in 1967 by regional Pioneer Dr Tom Cullity, Vasse Felix is Margaret River’s founding wine estate. Since day one Vasse Felix has always strived to explore and express the very best of the Margaret River region and to share it globally.

A classic Margaret River blend of Semillon (70%) and Sauvignon Blanc (30%). This popular, pure-fruit style has been made by Vasse Felix since 1987. It is zesty, fresh and crisp.

Fresh with a mouthwatering, crisp acidity. Ripe fruit flavours of kiwifruit, lemongrass and gooseberry bring sweetness through the core, complementing a beautiful dry finish.

Mount Impey Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc – £12.00

Mt Impey (1448m) is the highest point of a 2000ha biodiversity reserve established by the Holdaway family, on land they own in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. The reserve’s vast natural landscape provides a habitat for many endangered species, including the New Zealand Eastern Falcon.

By purchasing this wine, produced by the Holdaway family, you are helping support ongoing management of the reserve and its unique biodiversity.

The Pebble Sauvignon Blanc – £9.00

The vineyard soils of the Loire Valley are composed of a mixture of clays, sands, limestone and flint. These contribute a unique mineral freshness to the principal grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc. The pebble serves as a reminder of the origins of this wine. An appealing aroma combines with complex flavours of citrus and passionfruit, to produce an elegant and refreshing wine which will accompany light foods or be delicious just on its own.

Wairau Cove Sauvignon Blanc – £7.50

Wairau Cove is created by master winemakers from the magnificent vineyards of Marlborough in New Zealand’s South Island a perfect natural climate to make great tasting wine. The result is a crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc which bursts with zesty gooseberry and passion fruit flavours. Best served chilled as an aperitif or ideal with grilled fish, Asian cuisine or colourful salads.

Tesco Finest South African Sauvignon Blanc – £7.50

Made from grapes grown in South Africa’s iconic Stellenbosch region, this concentrated Sauvignon Blanc displays typical flavours of citrus fruits, in particular limes and gooseberries. Crisp and refreshing, this is at its best when served chilled with crab cakes, chicken pasta or simply enjoyed on its own.
