Malfy Gin Rosa – £28.00

Peter Morrell, Editor comments “Italian food and drink is big, bold, and packed with natural flavours. I’ve recently been tasting Malfy Gin Rosa, and it certainly lives up to its Italian heritage. The gin is made with a host of quality, natural ingredients. Handpicked juniper, zesty Sicilian pink grapefruit and lemon peel, coriander seeds, and other herbs are the botanicals that create the unique and refreshing taste of this gin.

With a name redolent of the beautiful Amalfi coast, Malfy Gin Rosa has a stylish frosted bottle. The gin pours a pale pink colour, and the bouquet is very pronounced. Pink grapefruit predominates, and there are good citrus and rhubarb aromas. On the palate the grapefruit persists, as do the zesty citrus notes, and the juniper emerges in the background. The overall taste is light, bright, and uplifting. The finish is lovely, with citrus and juniper persisting in the aftertaste.

Malfy Gin Rosa is the perfect base for cocktails, I had a think about this, and it is a natural ingredient for another Italian classic, the Negroni. Mix equal parts of Malfy Gin Rosa, sweet vermouth and Campari in a tumbler. Add ice, garnish with a slice of pink grapefuit and enjoy!

Malfy Gin Rosa is an excellent gin that makes the perfect drink for the summer.”
