Peter Morrell joins the celebrations for the opening of this newly refurbished restaurant with talented Executive Chef Adam Simmonds at the helm
After having had an excellent lunch at The Restaurant in the five star Capital Hotel recently I was delighted to receive an invitation to celebrate its official opening under the direction of new Executive Chef Adam Simmonds.
Adam comes with an impressive career record having gained experience in some of the UK’s most famous restaurants like Marco Pierre White’s Les Saveurs, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and the Belmond Cadogan Hotel. Along the way he has worked with renowned chefs and was given the accolade of a Michelin star at Ynyshir Hall in Wales and Danesfield House in Marlow.
The event took place in the newly refurbished restaurant which is located just steps away from Harrods. The new decor is a combination of wood-panelled walls, muted colours, subtle lighting and well-placed artworks making it a comfortable and relaxing space to eat.
Henriot Brut Souverain Champagne was our luxurious celebratory drink for the evening and this was accompanied by a range of delicious canapés. These tasty morsels were representative of dishes available on the menu, all had fresh and precise flavours. These were created by Adam and his young professional team who work with him in the kitchen using local, seasonal ingredients to produce memorable food.
There are breakfast, set lunch, afternoon tea, a la carte and tasting menus, and special menus for Christmas and New Year. So whatever the time of day after you have been for some intensive retail therapy at Harrods and Harvey Nic’s there will always be a menu for you to enjoy at The Restaurant at the Capital Hotel, it’s the ideal place to relax.
Congratulations to Adam and the Capital Hotel team for a successful launch and wishing them a bright culinary future.
