Casa Roscoli Primitivo (organic) – £8

Peter Morrell, Editor, comments: “I have tasted this wine, and it’s exceptional. Primitivo’s can be quite heavy, but this is light and elegant. There is an abundance of cherry and blackberry aromas with hints of spice in the bouquet. On the palate the dark fruit flavours remain and are joined by plum, tobacco, and earthy notes. The well structured tannins make this wine smooth and dry. The finale is impressive, with very strong and persistent spice flavours.

Pair this wine with slow roasted shoulder of lamb, charcuterie, and barbequed meats.”
