Gravetye Manor are excited to welcome Dan Saladino, renowned food journalist, presenter and producer of BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme and author of Eating to Extinction, to Gravetye Manor on 17th May 2023 for a talk and lunch with Gravetye Manor’s Executive Chef, George Blogg.

For budding florists, join Bex Partridge, a floral artist who recently appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World, for a morning of nature inspired creativity at Gravetye Manor on 10th or 11th May. Bex will be leading sessions on creating a half-moon dried-flower wreaths.

Dan Saladino and Chef George Blogg Book Event – Eating To Extinction

17th May 2023, arrival at 11:30am, talk to start at 12 noon, lunch will follow at 1pm

Gravetye Manor are excited to welcome Dan Saladino, renowned food journalist, presenter, and producer of BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme and author of the award-winning Eating to Extinction, to Gravetye Manor on 17th May 2023

Gravetye Manor’s Executive Chef, George Blogg will join Dan in conversation to discuss themes from his book which explores some of the world’s most endangered foods and take readers through a thrilling history of humankind’s relationship with food. Following the talk, guests will enjoy a 3-course lunch, including wine, coffee, tea, water and petit fours, in the glass fronted Michelin-starred dining room at shared tables.

Tickets for the book event and lunch, priced at £130, will also include a paperback copy of Eating to Extinction, signed by the author, plus tea and coffee for guests on arrival.

Guests are also invited to explore Gravetye Manor’s garden for a self-guided tour following lunch, to experience the flower garden and kitchen garden, where homegrown produce starts its journey.

Dried Flower Workshop with Floral Artist Bex Partridge

10th or 11th May 2023, 9am – 1:30pm

Join Bex Partridge, floral artist, for a morning of nature inspired creativity at Gravetye Manor. Bex will guide you through how to create one of her signature half-moon wreaths, built upon a natural woven wreath base. Working with a fresh and bright colour palette – the signature colours of spring – incorporating greens, pinks and yellows you will weave together stems to create a beautiful everlasting wreath.

Bex will begin the session with a short introduction followed by the basics of growing and drying flowers, including her favourite varieties and the easiest methods in which to dry. This will be followed by a short demonstration before Bex leads you into the creative session. Bex is a hands-on educator who will be there at all times to guide you through your own creation.

There will be soft velvet ribbons to finish off the wreaths, which will be yours to take home afterwards.

£155.00 per person, tea/coffee and pastries on arrival, 2 course lunch, wine, and workshop inclusive.

Groups will be limited to 8 people.
